Project introduction

The low-concentration sewage treatment plant of oil refining of Maoming Branch of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation adopts four first-class air flotation devices, which adopt vortex-concave air flotation type, and each front end is equipped with coagulation reaction tanks.

Petrochemical-Vortex concave air flotation equipment for refining low-concentration sewage treatment plant of Maoming Branch of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation

Product features and performance indicators
Save investment; Low operating costs; Simple operation; The removal rate of petroleum and suspended solids (SS) exceeded 80%; The removal rate of BOD and COD can reach more than 60%; It can promote the oxidation of sulfides and reduce the sulfur content in sewage.

Equipment principle
The pretreated sewage flows into a small inflatable section equipped with a vortex-concave aerator, and the sewage is fully mixed with the microbubbles generated by the aerator through the inflatable section during the ascent, and the aerator transfers the air on the water surface to underwater through the exhaust pipe. The working principle of the aerator is to use the high-speed rotation of the scattered impeller at the bottom of the air delivery pipe to form a vacuum area in the water, and the air on the liquid surface is input into the water through the aerator to fill the vacuum, and the microbubbles are generated and spiral to the water surface, and the oxygen in the air is also dissolved into the water. Due to the imbalance in density between the gas-water mixture and the liquid, a vertically upward buoyancy force is created that brings the SS to the surface of the water. During the floating process, microbubbles will attach to the SS, and after reaching the water surface, the SS relies on these bubbles to support and maintain the water surface. The SS floating on the surface of the water is intermittently removed by the chain scraper. The scraper moves along the entire liquid level and pushes the SS from the inlet end of the air flotation tank into the sludge discharge pipe at the outlet end. There are horizontal screws in the sludge discharge pipe, which feed the collected sludge into the sludge collection tank. The purified sewage flows into the overflow tank and then flows to the biochemical treatment part. The open return pipe extends from the aeration section along the bottom of the air flotation tank. While generating microbubbles, vortex-concave aerators form a negative pressure zone at the bottom of the pool with a return pipe, which causes the wastewater to flow back from the bottom of the pool to the aeration zone and then back to the air flotation section. This process ensures that around 40% of the wastewater is returned and the air flotation section can still work without water ingress.

Operation effect and application field
The dissolved air flotation device installed has met the requirements of use, with a high degree of trouble-free automation and high efficiency in removing suspended solids.
It is mainly used in the purification and treatment of industrial sewage in papermaking, chemical, printing and dyeing, food, beer, pharmaceutical, slaughtering and other industries.
